Dhaka Residency Hardship Travel Bursary — April 2027
The Project for Critical Education is offering a limited number of means-tested travel bursaries to support students on the MA Global Journalism at SOAS who would otherwise face financial barriers to participating in the two-week Dhaka residency.
Bursaries are intended to contribute towards essential travel costs (i.e. flight) and applications will be assessed on the basis of financial need, taking into account applicants' income, essential living costs, available financial resources and individual circumstances.
The purpose of the bursary is to ensure that students are not excluded from the residency because of their financial circumstances.
Awards may cover part or all of an applicant's travel costs, subject to available funds.
Financial information will be treated confidentially and will not influence academic assessment. Applicants may be asked to provide proportionate supporting evidence.
All eligible applications received by the deadline will be considered together. Where demand exceeds available funding, priority will be given to students with the greatest demonstrated financial need.
Application deadline: 6pm 13th November 2026
